I found this short list on the web and thought...there must be so many more! These are some of the more recent developments. Many of these ideas I remember reading about from authors like Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Gregory Benford, George Orwell, Ray Bradbury, Edgar Rice Burroughs, H.G. Wells, Aldous Huxley, etc. The younger crop of Sci-Fi writers will no-doubt come up with many more and I hope someone puts out a comprehensive list soon.

I can think of a few more like submarines, hover-craft, rockets, television, and more from the older sci-fi writers. One other current thing the article left out was from the 'Dick Tracy comic strip' (1931-1977): a wrist watch communicator, today's Watch or is it the iWatch?
